Finished Product

About time I posted the finished ornanment for Fiona, Amanda's is no more as I didn't like the stitching so I've stitched her another piece that is at the finishing stage in my basement. Currently working on an Lanarte piece that I got as a birthday present to match another piece. However confession time I got it over 12 years ago! I'll take a picture later.

Desert Diamonds

Did this piece through a cyber class with Shining Needle Society. It is a charted design by Lisa Willis. At first I was worried about working on black canvas but in all honesty had no problems. However I now have to add Kreinik Ombre to a list of love hate threads. It was a wonderful piece to do for relaxation as for the most part there was minimal laying of threads. and it also gave me a chance to try Snipits a thread I'd previously never heard of. As a lover of overdyes in both needlework and knitting not a chance to be missed.

Almost there

At the scary stage where I start the finishing and of course I cannot find my plastic canvas that I normally use so this time I will use mat board.

Love how the memory thread works, it is wonderful to use. However I thought it would be a bit thick for the chevons so decided to do stem stitch around them. Before doing that I was not too happy with them but now that the edges have been smoothed I don't think they look too bad.

Oliva's first birthday card

In the mean time I also enjoy making cards and this is one for a very dear friend's daughters 1st birthday.

Worked hard last night and I think I am now happy with the results. I have just put a bit of nail polish on the ends of DMC memory thread read to try couching around one of the tear drops.

Girls Christmas Ornanments

I forgot to mention that these are by Raymond Crawford.
Okay pulled out the raised pink chevons, not sure what will replace yet. Started beading the tear drops and tried and removed beads in center chevons.

These are the ornanment I am doing for my two girls this year. Fiona's is the orange and pink in which I have tried Mandarin Floss for the first time. Have to say it feels very much like regular floss to me so I will not be spend the extra on it again. The tear drops are alternating between the Mandarin and a old Needle Nec. fine velour for the intersections in these I will be adding pink beads which if there are enough will also be used in the center chevons.
